Sleep Apnea Treatment That Works With Your Body

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects millions of Americans, causing dangerous pauses in breathing during sleep. Left untreated, OSA significantly raises the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and depression.

Inspire is a breakthrough implantable device — a hypoglossal nerve stimulator — that senses every breath you take and delivers gentle stimulation to keep your airway open. No mask. No hose. No noise.

You control it with a small handheld remote: turn it on before bed, off when you wake up. That's it.

Inspire Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulator

A small device implanted during a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that monitors your breathing and gently stimulates the tongue muscle to keep your airway open while you sleep.

How Inspire Works — From Evaluation to Better Sleep

Sleep Study & Evaluation

We confirm your OSA diagnosis and severity with an at-home or in-lab sleep study. We also perform a drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) to determine if Inspire is the right fit for your anatomy.

Outpatient Implant Procedure

Our surgeons implant the small Inspire device through a few small incisions in an outpatient setting. Most patients go home the same day. The procedure typically takes about 2 hours.

Activation & Optimization

About one month post-surgery, your device is activated and fine-tuned in the office. You'll use a small handheld remote to turn Inspire on at bedtime. Follow-up sleep studies confirm your improvement.

CPAP vs. Inspire Therapy

For many patients, CPAP is effective but difficult or impossible to tolerate long-term. Inspire offers a proven alternative for those who struggle with CPAP.

CPAP Therapy

✕ Bulky mask worn every night — uncomfortable and claustrophobic for many

✕ Noisy machine disrupts sleep for both patient and partner

✕ Difficult to travel with; requires power source

✕ Studies show fewer than 50% of patients use CPAP consistently

✕ Skin irritation, dry mouth, and pressure sores common

Inspire Therapy

✓ No mask, no hose — sleeps entirely inside your body

✓ Silent — no machine noise to disturb you or your partner

✓ Travel freely — just bring your small handheld remote

✓ Clinical studies show significant reduction in sleep apnea events

✓ Minimally invasive outpatient procedure with rapid recovery
