Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty (Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery)

Upper Eyelid

Lower Eyelid

With aging, a patient may notice the upper eyelids feel “heavy” and appear to droop. Upper blepharoplasty is a procedure that involves Dr. Hjelm moving and removing tissue of the upper eyelid. The goal of the surgery is to aesthetically reverse this and give the patient a rejuvenated appearance.

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyes. Surgery can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both. Dr. Hjelm uses multiple techniques tailored to addressing each patient’s needs. In effect, the patient’s eyes are more “awake” and youthfully restored.

Lower blepharoplasty is indicated for patients with “bags” or “tear troughs” under the eyes. Dr. Hjelm’s surgical techniques address these concerns, often with hidden incisions. In the end, the patient’s lower eyelid appears rejuvenated and regains its smooth transition from the eye to the cheek.
