Temporal (Lateral) Brow Lift

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, repositions sagging or fallen eyebrows back into a youthful position. Dr. Hjelm uses a minimally-invasive endoscopic approach so the patient is left with no visible scars. If time and gravity have altered your forehead to make you look serious, angry or tired, you might want to consider a brow lift. A brow lift is a permanent procedure, but light wrinkles may return over time.

A temporal, or lateral, browlift lifts the outside portions of the eyebrows. This not only gives a patient a more “awake” appearance but also helps lift the heaviness off the eyes. Dr. Hjelm uses a minimally-invasive approach that only has one small incision hidden in the hair. In effect, the outer 1/3 of the brow and forehead is lifted. Recovery is short, often only lasting a weekend.

Unlike a traditional brow lift, a lateral temporal lift does not lift the central forehead and brow. Instead, it arches the brow up at its outer corner. This prevents an overly open-eyed or surprised look. Some may simply want a more classic arched brow even if they are younger and have not experienced aging.
