Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery, often recommended for conditions like thyroid nodules, high calcium levels, goiters (enlarged thyroid), adenomas or cancer, involves the removal of part or all of the thyroid or parathyroid gland. The procedures are performed under general anesthesia and can be done with a small incision on the front of the neck. Most patients are able to go home on the same day. Post-surgery, some patients may need thyroid hormone replacement therapy, and there could be temporary difficulty swallowing or changes in voice, though these often resolve over time. Our doctors stay in close contact with your endocrinology provider to optimize your post-operative care. To stay up to date with all management approaches and techniques, our surgeons lead and participate in monthly South Jersey Thyroid Club meetings with the leading endocrinologists and radiologists in the area.

The quality and strength of voice is not only essential for professional voice users and singers, but greatly impacts every person’s quality of life. Our doctors specialize in voice treatment, addressing various voice disorders that affect speech, singing, or vocal quality. Treatment options range from voice therapy and behavioral modifications to surgical interventions when necessary. Our in-office voice therapist works with our patients to improve vocal function, while behavioral modifications focus on lifestyle changes like managing reflux or avoiding vocal strain. In some cases, surgical procedures like laryngeal microsurgery or vocal cord injections may be recommended to correct structural issues or improve vocal cord function. It's crucial to undergo a comprehensive evaluation by our surgeons at Advocare ENT Specialty Center to determine the most suitable treatment plan tailored to individual needs and the specific condition affecting the voice.

Here at Advocare ENT Specialty Center, we specialize in diagnosing and treating various ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions in children (including newborns!). Pediatric ENT treatment encompasses a wide range of issues, including recurrent ear infections, tonsil and adenoid problems, snoring/sleep apnea, airway issues, hearing loss, speech and language disorders, and congenital abnormalities of the head and neck. Our otolaryngologists utilize various treatments tailored to each child's needs, such as medications, surgical interventions (like ear tube placement, tonsillectomy, or corrective surgeries for congenital anomalies), hearing aids, and counseling for developmental issues affecting the ears, nose, and throat. We also work with Hearing Professionals of South Jersey (HPSJ), who are one of the only centers in South Jersey who can perform hearing tests on newborns - https://hearingprofessionalsofsj.advocaredoctors.com/
